How to Style Activewear Outside of the Gym

We're all for incorporating athleisure into your wardrobe; because activewear is no longer just for the gym! Wearing leggings and sweatpants out and about is now considered socially acceptable, even trendy. I've listed some of my favorite techniques for transitioning your gym attire from a workout to a day out below.

LAYER YOUR OUTFITS

Layering pieces, such as a lightweight sweater or jacket, to your workout outfits gives a new element of cool to your look. Many athletic styles, including: undershirts, sports bras, cycling shorts, leggings, tights, and socks, can be worn beneath additional layers of clothing of the same or different types. Additionally, you will not require any additional layers.

NEUTRAL COLORS

While wearing any patterned activewear to the gym is exciting, wearing it outside of an exercise environment may appear to be too much for the ensemble. Sticking to any neutral tone or monochromatic palette is the greatest way to ease yourself into activewear outside of the gym while keeping the overall look stylish.

ELEVATE YOUR ACTIVEWEAR WITH ACCESSORIES

When paired with jewelry, sunglasses, a hat, or unique socks, activewear becomes more personal. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or rings can add texture and detail to your attire. Even high-tech accessories like smartwatches and fitness devices will help your outfit look more put-together.
