How to Prepare for a New School Year at College
By Sam Petragnani
This article details how to prepare for an upcoming school year at college.
Adjusting your sleep schedule
It’s important to get to bed earlier to prepare for those early mornings at school. The last thing you want is to sleep through your alarm or feel like a zombie walking to your first class of the semester.
Gather supplies
Create a checklist of everything you need for your classes. This could include textbooks, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, etc. You don’t want to be that kid who is asking the teacher for a pencil or a piece of paper.
Stay active on campus
Join a club or organization, participate in school events, hang out with your friends, go to the gym, or take a walk to a local pizza joint.
Map out your academic schedule
Plan your daily routines around your class schedule: what time am I going to wake up, what time am I going to eat breakfast and lunch, what time will I be able to fit a workout in, what time will I be able to start my homework, and what time will I be able to eat dinner. It’s important to get into a rhythm with your daily habits.
