Ways to Stay Productive During the Winter
By Sam Petragnani
This article details the best ways to stay active during the winter.
Get as much sun as possible
As the days become shorter, it’s important to try and get some Vitamin D before the sun goes down in the winter. When you’re inside, sit near the windows. Getting enough sunlight during the winter helps regulate your circadian rhythm, maintain serotonin levels, and support Vitamin D synthesis.
Move the body
When it’s below 0 with piles of snow outside, it’s easy to want to skip the gym. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try and workout for the day because it’s so cold out. Try some easy indoor workouts or walk around the house, treadmill, etc. Little movement is better than none.
Consistent daily routines
Sticking to a strong daily routine is key to a strong body and mind during the colder months. Try waking up around the same time each day if you can, along with roughly the same bedtime. A structured schedule makes it easier to juggle those daily responsibilities with a healthy lifestyle.
Try something new
WIth the winter, that means no more outdoor sports. If you are able to, go sledding, try skiing or snowboarding, or any other outdoor winter activity / sport.
